The College of Business welcomed Shawn Hussey as an associate professor of business in 2023.

He arrived from Texas, where he spent the previous year as an associate professor of business and non-traditional business programs chair at LeTourneau University. Previously, he taught as an associate professor of business (2016-22) at Corban University in Salem. He was also an interim dean (2017-21), the director of online undergraduate business programs (2014-17), the director of innovation initiatives (2014-17) and an assistant professor of business (2011-16) at Corban.

In all, Hussey brings 13 years of teaching and academic leadership experience. His areas of expertise include leadership, management, and business strategy.

He earned a PhD in organization and management – leadership from Capella University in 2012 and holds an MBA – finance from Capella (2005), as well as a bachelor’s degree in business administration from Corban (2003). He is also a distinguished graduate of the USAF Officer Training School at Maxwell Air Force Base (2019).

He lives in Dayton with his wife Angela, and daughters Reygan and Avleyne. Shawn and Angela have two grown children, Elayne and Payton (and his wife Violet), who live in the Salem area. In his spare time, Shawn enjoys Brazilian jiu-jitsu, distance running, and camping with his family. He also continues to serve as an officer in the Oregon Air National Guard.
