Marissa Dickison

The Department of Biological and Molecular Sciences welcomed Marissa Dickison as a visiting assistant professor of biology in 2023. She has since been promoted to assistant professor.

She arrived from Portland Community College, where she served as an associate instructor of biology since January of 2023. She formerly worked as an associate instructor of biology at MiraCosta College, specializing in general biology courses for pre-health students. Her favorite classes to teach are cell biology and genetics, molecular biology, faith and science, and microbiology.

Her research interests include biology education and molecular neuroscience.

Outside the Classroom 

Dickison lives in Dundee with her husband and their three children, and attends Newberg Friends Church. In her spare time, she hiking, camping and trips to the coast.
