Amy Bourne joined the university in 2024 as an assistant professor of accounting. She arrived from Oregon State University, where she worked as a senior instructor II in accounting for the previous 17 years.

Before that, she gained experience in the field, working as a staff auditor for Coopers and Lybrand LLP in Dallas (1996-98) and as a senior accountant at Cook Children’s Hospital in Fort Worth, Texas (1998-99) before embarking on a teaching career that included stints as an adjunct faculty member at Texas Christian University (1998-2000), as a full-time faculty member at Tarrant County College in Fort Worth (1999-2002), as an adjunct professor at Houston Baptist University (2002-03), and as a temporary assistant professor and lecturer at the University of Houston (2002-06).

Bourne has been a certified public accountant since 2001. She earned a doctor of business administration degree from Anderson University (2008) and holds both bachelor’s and master’s degrees in accounting from Texas Tech University.

She lives in Corvallis with her husband Jerry. They have three children: Emily is an occupational therapy student at Belmont University in Tennessee; Benjamin attends George Fox, where he runs cross country; and Michael attends Oregon State University. She attends Grace City Church in Corvallis and enjoys exercising, needle point, stained glass and sports.
