The Last Supper

In his own words, sculptor Scott Rogers created this piece "to create in physical form that which inspires others to find and connect with the Divine." The piece was first conceived in 1990 when Rogers began sculpting and is representative of his multi-figured pieces. While his primary career focus has been on depicting scenes from the Old West, Rogers envisioned his "ultimate multi-figured" piece as an original interpretation of The Last Supper. Despite starting and scrapping the project multiple times, it wasn’t until after gathering 10 years of archaeological, historical, and spiritual research that he began the sculpture anew in August 2008, completing it in December 2009.

Throughout his research, Rogers learned various details about the time of Jesus, such as how meals were served at low tables, with tableware made from blown glass. He also discovered that rabbis often wore linen cloths on their heads while teaching. The arrangement of the 12 disciples and the tableware forms an infinity symbol, adding another layer of depth to the composition.
