Hayley Steele Schlauderaff

Hayley Steele Schlauderaff joined the nursing department as an assistant professor of nursing in 2024 after working the previous year as an adjunct clinical instructor of nursing.

In addition, in the three years leading up to her hiring, she worked as a family nurse practitioner at the Corvallis Family Medicine clinic, specializing in primary care for infants to those in their 90s. She also has experience in urgent care and women’s health.

Previously, her experience in the field included a more than seven-year commitment at Salem Hospital as an assistant nurse manager in the medical surgical unit (2019-21), as a staff nurse and charge nurse in prep/recovery (2018-19), and as a staff nurse in the emergency department (2014-18). Her nursing career began as a graduate nurse/registered nurse at Gales Creek Camp in Gales Creek, Oregon (2014), where she worked with campers who lived with type 1 diabetes.

Hayley lives in Salem with her husband, daughter and two labradors. She enjoys building Legos with her family, traveling, listening to music, and challenging puzzles like escape rooms.
