Mary Waldo

The nursing program hired Mary Waldo as an associate professor of nursing in 2025. She specializes in teaching in the new Doctor of Nursing Practice program.

Mary is a familiar face at George Fox, working the previous two years of her hiring as adjunct faculty in the College of Nursing. Previously, she was the director of professional practice, quality and research and director of clinical education for Providence St. Joseph Health, Oregon region. She has taught at several schools of nursing, most recently as an adjunct for the University of Great Falls/Providence.

In all, she has more than 45 years of nursing practice and research experience. She is an advanced practice nurse and is nationally board certified as a Clinical Nurse Specialist in Gerontology.

Mary lives in Tualatin with her husband Bruce. They have two sons, a daughter-in-law, and two wonderful grandchildren. She enjoys kayaking, hiking, gardening and sewing.
