Doctoral Capstone Coordinator
Assistant Professor of Occupational Therapy
Ashley Ly joined the university in the fall of 2024 to serve as an assistant professor of occupational therapy and as the doctoral capstone coordinator for the Occupational Therapy Doctorate program.
Ly’s clinical experience includes three years of practice at OHSU Doernbecher Children's Hospital in Portland. In that role, she cared for children from birth through adolescence and their families in acute care, pediatric intensive care, and outpatient settings. She is especially passionate about incorporating palliative care principles into pediatric occupational therapy and has presented her program development at the state and national levels.
In addition, since January of 2024, she has worked as director of occupational therapy for Alamo Health Management, for which she developed and implemented programming to facilitate increased occupational engagement for residential clients with severe mental illness.
Ly earned a occupational therapy doctorate from Pacific University in 2021 and holds a bachelor’s degree in health sciences from California State University, East Bay (2017). She lives in Portland with her husband, Danny, attends Bridgetown Church, and enjoys spending time outdoors with her husband and dog (Harlow), whether hiking, skiing, or paddling in the great Pacific Northwest.
