Tess Swake joined the university as an assistant professor of physical therapy in 2021. The hiring came after she had worked as a human anatomy laboratory course coordinator and as a teaching assistant in George Fox's physical therapy program the previous three years. She also worked as a staff physical therapist at the Willamette Valley Medical Center in McMinnville during that same time frame.
Previously, Tess worked as a traveling physical therapist from 2012 to 2018 with Therapists Unlimited and Jackson Therapy Partners. She is a board-certified Orthopedic Clinical Specialist (OCS) and has a Manual Therapy Certification (MTC).
Tess earned a doctor of physical therapy degree from the University of St. Augustine (2011) and holds a bachelor’s degree in exercise and sport science from Oregon State University (2008). She lives in Wilsonville with her husband, Josh, and daughter, Seneca.
