REJUVENATE is for any and all Christian adults shepherding and serving young people: pastors, non-profit leaders, educators, coaches, counselors, etc. Our goal is to create a life-giving space for youth pastors and leaders in the Pacific Northwest to equip, empower, and encourage one another. We hope to rejuvenate those serving in youth ministry so they can continue to guide the next generation for Christ!

Schedule

Saturday, November 4

8:30 a.m. Doors Open (Coffee Provided)
9-10:30 a.m. 3 Big Questions that Change Every Teenager
Plenary Session 1: Kara Powell

The teenagers in your life are searching for answers to their three biggest questions: Who am I? Where do I fit? What difference can I make? But young people struggle to find life-giving answers to these questions on their own. They need caring adults willing to lean in with empathy, practice listening, and walk with them in the direction of better answers.

Based on landmark research from the Fuller Youth Institute, this session gives you and your team practical conversation and connection ideas to help teenagers reach their full potential. You’ll be equipped with essential tools you can start using this week to point young people toward Jesus’ best answers for their identity, belonging, and purpose questions.

10:45-11:45 a.m. Faith Beyond Youth Group
Workshop Session 1: Kara Powell

We all want the teenagers in our ministries to develop an everyday faith—a faith that’s just as real Monday through Saturday, and that lasts long after they leave our ministry. But what does that mean for how we program and teach every week? Join this breakout to learn research- based and practical ideas you can use immediately to help the next generation keep faith alive beyond youth group.

11:45 a.m.-12:45 p.m. Lunch (Provided)
12:45-1:45 p.m. Ministry with LGBTQ Teenagers
Workshop Session 2: Mark Oestreicher

What do I do when a teenager comes out to me? How do I respond in a way that’s helpful rather than creating additional problems? Why does that seem to be such a massive uptick of teens asking gender questions? Will you find all the answers in this session? No. Instead, you'll hear some basic practices and guidelines to help you walk with students, rather than scaring them away.

2-3:30 p.m. What's Unique About Today's Teenagers?
Plenary Session 2: Mark Oestreicher

In some ways, young people today are the same as they've been since the first teenager, wrestling with developmental realities that mark this season of their lives. But, in other ways, today's adolescent experience is nothing like the past. In this session, Marko will suggest some of these new realities for us to consider how to proactively respond.

3:30 p.m. Close and Benediction
