Speakers
Jay Kim is a follower of Jesus in the Silicon Valley of California. He serves as lead pastor at WestGate Church.
He's the author of Listen Listen Speak, Analog Christian, Analog Church, and Colossians: One Jesus, One People. He's also a contributing author to Faithful Exiles, Before You Lose Your Faith, and Red Skies.
Some of his written work has been featured in Christianity Today, The Gospel Coalition, Missio Alliance, Outreach, and Relevant Magazine. He is also the host of IVP’s Digital Examen Podcast and Barna’s Making Space Podcast.
Jay will explore what it means to be wonderfully known by God, examining how being known by Him shapes our lives. He will also discuss how we can discern God’s voice and understand His guidance in our daily journey.
Ashlee Eiland is a thought leader, writer, and Bible teacher who exists to join in God's redemptive work here on Earth. Her work has one purpose: to help humanity build bridges back to the truth of who God is and between one another in whole and healing relationships. Ashlee formerly served as Co-Lead Pastor at Mars Hill Bible Church in West Michigan. She and her husband live in Grand Rapids with their three kids.
Ashlee will share insights on how we can truly know our neighbors and speak with kindness in today’s cultural context. To be wonderfully known, we must first understand who we are and who God has created us and others to be. With this understanding, Eiland will show how we can express that knowledge through love, following the example of Jesus.
Ryan Burge is an associate professor of political science at Eastern Illinois University, where he also serves as the graduate coordinator. He has authored over thirty peer-reviewed articles and book chapters alongside four books about religion and politics in the United States. He has written for The New York Times, POLITICO, and the Wall Street Journal. He has also appeared in an NBC Documentary, on Full Frontal with Samantha Bee, as well as 60 Minutes, which called him, “one of the country’s leading data analysts on religion and politics.” He has served as a pastor in the American Baptist Church for over twenty years and has been married to his wife Jacqueline for over sixteen years. They have two boys.
Ryan will explore how we can deeply know our students, offering insights into who they are, what they believe, and how they understand their faith. He will discuss how this understanding enables us to serve our students more holistically and effectively.
