Emergency Communications
At George Fox, our foremost concern is the safety and welfare of our campus community. Should emergencies or incidents arise on or near campus, we are committed to keeping our community informed through various communication channels. These essential notifications include:
- An SMS text message (to cellular phone numbers provided by students as an emergency contact) using the FoxAlert emergency alert system
- The university’s email system
- Trained emergency response staff members
- Campus Public Safety
- Building monitors
- Residence life staff (ACs, AACs & RAs)
Signing Up for FoxAlert
(Follow these instructions to update if your mobile number changes)
- Log in to your MyGeorgeFox account
- Click on the “Profile” tile
- Click on “Contact Details”
- Add or adjust your cell phone number
- On the “Phone Type” pick list, you must choose one of the “Cell” options.
- Type in your phone number and click “Preferred” to receive text alerts. Click “Save.”
- This will add your phone to the text messaging on FoxAlert.
